Taste the waste ! Fighting food waste to a disco groove. Peel good – feel good
We recover food which is perfectly fit for consumption but has been rejected by supermarkets in Europe due to cosmetic reasons. Help us scrub, peel, chop and cook this fresh, delicious produce into a delicious soup and other dishes, all to music, jiggling while we cook !
The aim of the event is not only to cook and eat together – we aim to connect various stakeholders in the field, food industry, NGOs, food exporters, farming companies, the international institutions and YOU to connect and find a solution to recover and reduce food losses and food waste. Join us in starting a movement in Kenya !
Kenya is one of the biggest fruit and vegetable exporting countries worldwide, yet millions of people are undernourished. Many farmers waste up to 40 % of the food the grow, mostly due to the cosmetic standards in the supermarkets.
Tristram Stuart, founder of the environmental organisation Feedback and author of « Waste : Uncovering the Global Food Scandal » will be chopping and cooking with us as well.
Stay tuned for updates on the DJs playing and further information !
Yes we cook !
